  1. I wanted to copy a dvd and used IC7 and ended up with 7 PDI files.
How do I turn these in to Mpeg or something that I can put on a CD-R, VCD???

    Rather new to all this.

IC7 is more for transfering a dvd9 to a dvdr.

Sefy's classical DVD to VCD ripping guide

If you are not worried about chapters you can just use nero or any program to burn the vcd & skip the "ChapterXtractor" & "VCDEasy"
or use DVD Decrypter instead of SmartRipper but they will both work fine for making a vcd.

  3. IIRC IC has an option to output to SVCD or something, but the default (PDI) output is for DVD. So there's NO WAY that you can fit those files onto a CDR.

IF IC can be set for CDR/SVCD output re-run it and select that (with 2-3 CDRs). If not then you'll need to think of using a different program to back up your DVDs. Take a look at the guides to the left under DVD Rip.
